Alfa Romeo 156 GTA 3.2 Manual Saloon. The Alfa Romeo 156 GTA, or Gran Turismo Alleggerita, were hand produced between 2002-05 alongside the 147 GTA on a dedicated production line.
Famed for housing the final iteration of the legendary Alfa Busso V6 engine, the 156 GTA has become one of the most collectable modern classic Alfas in recent years. Uk, there are currently as few as 143 manual GTAs remaining on UK roads meaning that as well as being a capable performance car even by todays standards, the GTA is also a potential future investment piece.
My example is an 03 reg UK registered example and is finished in Grigio Sterling grey with a black on grey leather interior and factory gunmetal alloys. It has covered 91,000 miles from new and is currently used sporadically as one of my weekend toys. Prior to myself, there have been 2 former owners. Benefitting from a comprehensive specialist history, as well as a suite of tasteful upgrades I believe this to be one of the best examples currently for sale in the UK. As well as being the more desirable manual model, my GTA also benefits from a high factory specification including the extremely rare electronic sunroof option.
The last major service was carried out alongside the most recent inspection at 89,000 miles. As well as a full specialist service history, the car has also had the following work carried out, all by Alfa Romeo specialists, with invoices to prove. New radiator and undertray (88,000 miles). New Cambelt kit (88,000 miles).New Water Pump (78,000 miles). New clutch (74,000 miles). Full underside rust protection (89,000 miles). Full specialist inspection (most recently done at 89,000 miles). In terms of modifications, the car has been upgraded by both myself and the previous owner with no expense spared to create the ultimate GTA for the road.
Given the rarity and heritage of the vehicle, the changes made are all entirely reversible and have been chosen so as to not compromise the OEM look and feel of the car, but instead compliment the experience. The car benefits from the following. Autodelta carbon intake (original also included with sale). Q2 Limited Slip Differential (LSD). Bluetooth hands free head unit (original head unit also included with sale).
Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres all round. Cosmetically the vehicle is in very good condition, with only a few minor age-related marks to be expected of a near 20-year-old car.
There is a slight area on the rear wheel arch that could benefit from a respray approx. The size of a 5p coin. The interior is in great condition and the leather has no rips or tears. If I could justify keeping the car, I would attend to the former point, and potentially look into an upgraded plenum to house a Ferrari F430 throttle body.
Aside from this, the vehicle is exactly how I want it to be. There are no unusual knocks or rattles, and the vehicle starts on the first time of asking. Both myself and the previous owners have ran the vehicle exclusively on high-octane fuels. Manual non-imported 156 GTAs does not come up for sale very often, as I discovered when looking for mine. The car can be viewed from CF40, Wales.I have tried to cover all aspects of the vehicles condition and history, however, please feel free to get in touch with any queries and I will do my best to respond. Thanks for reading my listing.
